Enforcement

Enforcement Department was created in October 2009 for effective enforcement and monitoring in order to provide safe, reliable and efficient services by the licensees to the consumers. Enforcement Department is entrusted to safeguard public interest by enforcing provisions of OGRA Ordinance, Rules, Regulations, Standards, Terms and Conditions of Licences and directions/ decisions of the Authority, upon licensee. The Department is primarily responsible for activities relating to (i) Surprise inspections of selected the CNG Stations with respect to (a) filling of unapproved cylinders (b) excess pressure (c) safety parameters (ii) Surprise inspections of LPG storage and filling plants for (a) cross filling (b) overcharging (c) safety etc. (iii) Surprise inspections of LPG authorizes distributors for overcharging and safety etc. (iv) surprise inspections of LPG authorized equipment manufacturers for ensuring manufacturing for ensuring applicable standards and (v) Surprise Inspection of petrol pumps for (a) overcharging (b) stock (c) quality. Liaison with District Administration with respect to curbing the menace of overcharging and action required against illegal pumps/ dabba stations. Such random inspections have been helpful in building the trust of consumers which is the most neglected. OGRA’s initiative has proved to be a deterrent for others and an indication that rules and regulations are to be fully adhered, thus benefiting the consumers in general.
